Our Space unit is going along very smoothly and this week we looked more into each planet and the certain characteristics that they have.  We have seen many videos and read many books about our solar system.  Below are two of the songs that we learnt in class.

This Tuesday March 26th will be the Pre-K’s picture day and don’t forget that the Musical Scavenger Hunt is the day after (Wednesday March 27).

After the Spring Break I will calculate the cost of the Baby Boss field trip and then send out a form regarding prices.

What we did in our centres this week.
Literacy Centres
1.      Computer story “Eight Days in Space” and Starfall word machine game
2.      Sight words St. Patrick’s Day game
3.      Initial sounds 4 in a row game
4.      Phonics Tt

Math/Science Centres
1.      Measuring string using blocks
2.      Measure the room with crayons
3.      Go fish card game
4.      Making rockets, planets, etc. with play dough and toothpicks

Student of the week
The student of the week is Hugo.  He has emerged as a strong leader and many of his peers also look to him for help and support.  Hugo also always speaks English inside the classroom and even makes sure that everyone else follows the rules.  He has come so far since September, keep up the great work!!!
