Hsinchu Soccer Program

Hello,

Here is some exciting information regarding a soccer/football for your son or daughter.  I highly recommend getting involved because organized sports are hard to come by in Taiwan.  It will all be in English and it’s an excellent opportunity to get outside and be around children of the same age.

The session for 5 year olds will start this Saturday (weather permitting) at 07’45 to 09’15 at the National Experimental High School (link below to google maps). Please find attached a basic overview of our program. The first session is completely free to ensure everyone is happy to enroll, thereafter our fees are;
-       Session              Ntd 3,000 for a book of 10 weeks (must be used within 14 weeks) – the price has recently increased so for the first purchase we will offer the old price at $2,835
-       Membership        Ntd 2,500 includes uniform, shinguards, ball (all Puma branded) plus our members guide
(FYI they are currently out of stock for our younger members but expect Puma to deliver mid-May – membership payment on delivery)

Friday, April 20 2012

      We had a very busy week in the Pre-K class.  Our visit to the fruit market and post office went really well.  I was very proud at how well the students were able to count out their money and then buy some fruit.  It keeps reminding me how far we have come since August.  The visit to the post office was also a major success.  We learnt about stamps and how to write our address on letters.  Hopefully in a few days you all will receive something special in the mail.

Last Wednesday we also had the opportunity to make some pottery at school.  The students had a great time playing on the pottery wheel and decorating their creations.  In a few weeks we will be getting back what we made.

Next week we will be looking at firefighters, followed by a trip to the fire station.   Please keep brining in the permission forms along with the money for the Baby Boss field trip.  For this trip I will need two parents to come along with us as we need more chaperones for the taxi rides to and from the train station.

Lastly thank you to all of the parents that came in this week for parent teacher conferences.  It was great to see you all and sit down and discuss all of the progress your son or daughter had made.

Friday, April 12, 2012

I hope everyone had a relaxing spring break, I was lucky enough to spend some time with my parents circling the island.  On Monday we had out Easter Egg Hunt and the kids had a great time finding coloured eggs in courtyard.

We have started our Community Helpers unit and the kids are enjoying learning about the various occupations throughout our society.  Our first field trip was today and the local police were very welcoming to us.  Next week we will visit the post office and local market.  Our planned fire museum trip has been cancelled because they are too busy this month.  However, we will still be going to the fire station.  I hope to have finalized all of the details for the Baby Boss trip by next week.

Our bean sprouts are still growing and the students are mesmerized that plants can be fed various liquids.  A reminder that the science fair is April 25th
