Hello,

This Friday we will be celebrating Easter.  We will be having an Easter egg hunt and decorate eggs.  I am inviting any parents that have time to come and join in for the festivities.  You can come by after lunch at 1:00.  If you are going to attend could you please let me know so I can make the necessary arrangements.

I hope everyone had a great Spring break I heard many stories (some real, some not!) about all of the places you went.  I had a great time in Penghu on the beach.  It was my first time there and I would definitely return. 

We have started the Community Helpers unit and we had an amazing time at the police station today.  Next week we will be looking at grocery stores and where we buy food, followed to the fruit market.  During the upcoming weeks it would be a great opportunity for you to talk about the various people in our community and how they help us.   Talk about where the people in the community and the job that they do.

There is a change in dates the fire station trip is going to be moved to May 4^th at 10:30 not April 27^th. 

          

      The weather is warming up and the students get very hot and sweaty.  Try to bring clothes that are comfortable for them to wear.  Short sleeve shirts, shorts and hats are always good during this warmer weather.  Also remember to replace clothes that we send home.

What we did in our centres this week.

Literacy Centres

1.      Making sentences using big letters and fishing rods.

2.      Buddy reading green binders.

3.      Computer story “The Biggest Job of All”

4.      Making police hats and badges then playing in the police station.

Math Centres

1.      Snap card game.

2.      Pattern work books.

3.      Water dice game.

4.      Computer adding game.

Reminders and Notices

1.       Please bring back “Aa, Mm” books.

2.     Anything other then the “Aa, Ss” books can be kept at home.

3.     Please replace extra clothes when they come home.

4.     Parent teacher evening April 19^th and 20^th.

5.     April 21st Fruit market and local store field trip.

6.     Taichung science centre school field trip April 29^th.

        I can now say that spring is finally here and the cold weather is behind us.  We all had an excellent time at the Glass Museum and surrounding area yesterday.  The students loved the museum, feeding the ducks and walking around the park.  Since we had some extra time we decided to go back to the zoo and go see our favorite animals. 

Next month we will be doing many more field trips and on April 11^{th (}first day back at school) I will be sending home a letter explaining when and where we are going.  There will be at least one a week and sometimes even two.  The letter will have more details but I am going to ask if any parent could drive us to the fire museum if they could come and let me know.  I want to wish everyone a safe and happy Spring break and as I look out the classroom and see the sun shining I know it will be!
