        Spring must be coming soon and I can’t wait until it arrives.  We are getting to the end of our dinosaur unit and will be finished by the end of next week.  Next Thursday will be our last day of school until April 11^th.  I know the weather will be better so it will be a great time to get outside and enjoy spending time with family and friends.  Please remember to pack a suitable lunch for our field trip next Thursday to the Glass museum, its going to be a great day out!    Also, as the weather warms up please remember to replace any extra clothes that go home.  After recess and P.E Mrs. Vicky and I change the students clothes and we are finding that they are not being replaced.   

What we did in our centres this week.

Literacy Centres

1.        Pull sight words game.

2.      Finger print animals.

3.     Computer story “Dinosaurs.”

4.     Making books about Dinosaurs and guided reading with a teacher.

Math and Science Centres

1.       Math measurement game.

2.     Measuring using a ruler cut and paste activity.

3.     Making 3D structures with magnets.

4.     3D puzzles.

Reminders and Notices

1.       Please bring back “Aa, Mm” books.

2.     P.E will now be on Friday afternoons.

3.     Anything other then the “Aa, Ss” books can be kept at home.

4.     Glass Museum trip March 31^st

5.     Please replace extra clothes when they come home.

6.     Please bring back word rings to school.

Brownie Bake Sale

The grade 5 students will be having a brownie bake sale tomorrow to raise money for Japan.  One brownie will be 50NT or 3 for 100NT.  You can either give me money directly or send money in with your son or daughter.

Spirit Week

        Spirit week is over and thanks to everyone that got dressed up and participated in this fun event.  I took some great pictures that I will post very soon.  It looks like Sports Day will need to be postponed again.  Once I know the new date I will let everyone know.  I almost have everyone’s money for the March 31^st field trip to the glass museum.  Let’s all cross our fingers and hope that the weather will be warm and pleasant for us!  We are continuing with our dinosaur unit until our April break.  Next month we will be studying community helpers.  There will be many field trips during this fun unit, almost one a week!

What we did in our centres this week.

Literacy Centres

1.        Fishing game with lower and upper case letters.

2.      Painting big dinosaurs.

3.     Computer story “Dinosaurs Roar”

4.     Making books about Dinosaurs and guided reading with a teacher.

Math and Science Centres

1.       Measuring string with blocks.

2.     Measure the room using measuring tape.

3.     Making 3D structures with magnets.

4.     Card game “Go Fish”

Reminders and Notices

1.       Please refrain from sending toys to school.

2.     Please bring back “Aa, Mm” books.

3.     P.E will now be on Friday afternoons.

4.     Sports Day is cancelled.

5.     Making pottery will be April 13^th during the school day.

6.     Please bring in the money for the glass museum trip.

Sports Day Cancelled

Due to many circumstances sports day will be cancelled until a further date.  Most likely during a regular school day.  Sorry for all of this confusion.

Sports Day Rain Date

Due to the rainy weather last Saturday the Sports Day has been moved to this Saturday, March 19th.  Please meet at 8:00am in the back field.  If you cannot make could you please let me know so we can make the necessary team changes.
